Despatch is a crime drama revolving around a journalist named Joy Bag.

According to reports Kanu Behl took 8 years to make the movie.

However the movie is more of a biopic of Joy Bag than a thriller or a crime drama.

Despatch starts off with Manoj Bajpayee playing the lead role, being frustrated most of the time and bedding several women while trying to divorce his wife.

The movie drags around for the first hour or so, as it tries to detail out the character of Bajpayee.

Meanwhile they manage to throw in multiple sex scenes all with Bajpayee in it, trying to show his confused mind.

Somewhere down the middle of the movie, it suddenly picks up pace.

You are bombarded with several criminal theories as the topics shift from Underworld to Gang wars to D Company and Rajan Gang to Manoj Bajpayee’s naked butt to Cricket betting to Naked pole dancing girls to shell companies to black money to…..

Yup, I lost my focus at the same time and all I could remember was Bajpayee’s butt.

Anyhoo, the movie suddenly starts reminding you of the journalist J Dey and you kinda guess where the plot is going.

The confusion kept piling on as everytime Manoj Bajpayee tried to find a new direction to his investigation I kept hearing the voice of that one lady on the newsroom going “But you can see his bum”

On the performances part, Manoj Bajpayee has given a stellar performance. He has to literally carry the entire movie on his shoulder since everyone else but himself was merely a pile on.

Of the three women he manages to bed, all of them did the same kind of acting and though they were alright, I couldn’t spot a prominent difference in them.

While the movie can be a perfect ode to Bajpayee, personally I think it was quite a bum affair.

#DaMoRating: 3/10

Disclaimer: This movie gets points only for Manoj Bajpayee, and I would have given it 4 points but I reduced it because honestly “you can see him bum” 🤪🤪
